Many families in Charleston, West Virginia, struggle to make ends meet, working long hours in minimum wage jobs. Some fight the headwinds of costly medical bills; others earn low pay while working community service jobs. They seek better lives for their kids and families, yet fall further and further behind in paying basic bills.

Curren Sheldon is an Emmy-winning and Academy-Award nominated producer and filmmaker.
