‘If they can put more houses on a site, then they’ve increased the quantity of affordable housing for individuals, it’s just the land development code hasn’t been reviewed that extensively to see what that could look like, and then you need buy-in from the community and elected officials so it’s a conversation that’s still in the works,’ Long said.
She said some of those initial items like the surplus property list available to developers are still a few months away from being complete, but as the discussions continue in the community and at the government level, she expects more momentum on affordable housing.”
