“Outfront Kalamazoo will soon offer a transitional house for LGBTQ+ youth who are experiencing homelessness.

Cristina Suarez-Ross is the director of homeless youth programs at OutFront.

She said six to eight people will live in the home which will be located in the Vine neighborhood. The people living there will be ages 18 to 24 and will have to go to school or work in order to live there.

According to national data from Out Not Down, 40% of homeless LGBTQ+ teens were thrown out by their parents.”
