The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities recently held their state policy conference, Impact 2016, a national gathering of policy experts and advocates to explore new strategies to build thriving communities and expand economic opportunity. Attendees discussed the decisions made by state governments that profoundly affect residents’ quality of life, and how to craft state budgets that are both sustainable and responsive to communities’ needs.
