September 20 Forum – Making College Work: Pathways to Success for Disadvantaged Students

Posted on

Many low-income college students spend exorbitant amounts of money and time on coursework without finishing a degree, and those with degrees often struggle to make enough money to repay student debts. In their new book Making College Work, researchers Harry Holzer and Sandy Baum propose a range of solutions for America’s poorest college students. The Brookings Institution will host a discussion with Holzer and Baum, as well as Lashawn Richburg-Hayes, vice president for education at Insight Policy Research; and David Baime, senior vice president at the American Association of Community Colleges. The event will be held at Brookings in Washington, D.C., from 9-10:30 a.m. EDT. Click here to register.
