A Proposal to Reduce Poverty Among Seniors
A new report from the Urban Institute proposes a reform to the Social Security program to reduce extreme poverty among older recipients. The program would institute a minimum benefit floor for Social Security recipients, and would not count those minimum benefits toward other social programs’ income eligibility thresholds.
