October 14 – Once Upon an American Dream
The Heurich House Museum and the Bipartisan Policy Center present “Once Upon an American Dream,” a three-part panel series exploring the stages of the immigrant experience in America: migration, arrival, and integration. This third and final event’s discussion will focus on how immigrants of the past and present integrate into our communities. Every immigrant’s journey to become an integral part of a new community is unique, and we hope to explore these stories in our culminating panel. The discussion will focus on the following questions: What is the “Great American Success Story” and what does it mean to achieve the “American Dream”? How did immigrants integrate in the past and how do they do so today? What are some of the challenges to integration and how can they be overcome? The event will take place Wednesday, October 14 at 4 p.m. EST.
