NYC Seeks Volunteers In New Homeless Outreach Effort
“A new program is seeking volunteers to try and convince homeless people to leave New York City streets.
The Street Homeless Advocacy Project will train everyday New Yorkers to become homeless outreach volunteers. They will be part of teams made up of social workers, clergy and community leaders who be assigned to specific areas to try to convince homeless to get into housing and help services. Norman Siegel is helping lead the project.”
