Number of New Yorkers on Medicaid has skyrocketed in the last decade
“The number of New Yorkers on Medicaid and other state public health insurance programs has skyrocketed by 57 percent over the past decade — to 7 million, according to a report released Wednesday. More than a third of New Yorkers — 36 percent of the state’s 19.8 million people — received government-funded health coverage targeted to the needy, the analysis by state Comptroller Tom DiNapoli said.”
