“Depending on where they live, their race or ethnicity and their family’s income, Michigan children have either comfortable or challenging lives, according to a new Kids Count report released Tuesday that showed the number of children living in poverty increased 15 percent from 2008 to 2015. The report, now in its 25th year and released by the Michigan League for Public Policy, showed 47 percent of African-American and 30 percent of Latino children live in households that are struggling to get by.”
