March 1 Briefing – The Opioid Crisis: Investing in Solutions for Children and Families

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 91 people die daily in the United States of opioid-related causes. The Annie E. Casey Foundation, the American Academy of Pediatrics and Volunteers of America will host a briefing to discuss solutions to the national health crisis, including ways for Congress to support programs that work. Speakers include Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) (invited); Leslie Boissiere, vice president of the Annie E. Casey Foundation; and Mike King, president and CEO of Volunteers of America. The event will be held in the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C., from 9:30 – 11 a.m. EST. Click here to register.
