Look at all the suburban kids paying tuition to attend D.C. public schools
“American journalists have a label often applied to the D.C. schools: ‘one of the nation’s most troubled school districts.’ So why are several dozen suburban families paying an average of $11,000 a year in tuition to send their kids there? During the 2016-2017 school year, only seven tuition-paying students living in Maryland and Virginia attended these D.C. public schools: Garfield Elementary, Hart Middle, Burrville Elementary, Browne Education Center and two magnet high schools, Banneker and the School Without Walls. But one other D.C. school had an astounding 45 tuition payers.”
