Latina, April 21, 2016: 1.7 million Texas children live in poverty, majority are latino
“Nearly 1 in 10 children living in the U.S. resides in Texas, and 50 percent of those kids are Latino, making the recent State of Texas Children Race & Equity Report particularly important to our community. According to the study, one in every four Texas kids, or 1.7 million children, live below the poverty line, and 64 percent is Latino. That’s 1.1 million kids, or 33 percent of Texas’ Latino children.”
