Improving Access to Child Care for Vulnerable Populations

With the importance of high-quality child care becoming an increasingly bipartisan concern, a new report from the Urban Institute focuses on the supply of child care for certain vulnerable populations – such as rural families and children with disabilities – and finds that access to formal child care is often inadequate to meet their needs. The report also provides data on the number of low-income children in each state who fall into those priority populations.
