“Low-income residents in Virginia who are behind on their utility bills can apply for relief from the state. The Low Income Household Water Assistance Program is a temporary federally-funded program that’s been created to assist low-income households that are behind on their water and wastewater bills. Relief is available to eligible Virginia residents until funds are depleted. Eligible households must have a past due water or wastewater balance and a gross household income that’s less than 150% of the federal poverty level based on household size.”
