The 2016 election and its aftermath have brought to the fore the issues facing rural communities, including lack of infrastructure, the opioid epidemic, and the impact of economic failure on rural schools. The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) will host a discussion on the challenges to rural school systems and policies to address them. Speakers include Michael McShane, director of national research at EdChoice; Lillian Lowery, vice president for preK-12 policy, research, and practice at The Education Trust; and Jillian Balow, Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction. The event will be held at AEI in Washington, D.C., from 9 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. EST. Click here to register.
