As of last year, about 5% of U.S. consumers said they preferred shopping for groceries online, a number that seems poised to rise in the coming years. In 2015, online grocery sales amounted to about $7 billion; by 2020, they’re expected to grow to $18 billion. But while people tend to focus on how this service can benefit those with income to spare, online grocery delivery could prove to be a game-changer for a group our society has long ignored: those living in poverty.”
