Affordable housing for low-income LGBTQIA elders opens in Cedar Mill
“After years of development, new affordable housing opened in the Cedar Mill neighborhood of Washington County specifically dedicated to low-income senior citizens in the LGBTQIA community. The Opal sits on the Christ United Methodist Church property near the intersection of Northwest Dogwood Street and Northwest Saltzman Road. The 5,000-square-foot complex will mainly house LGBTQIA senior citizens. While The Opal offers LGBTQ+ services and will be taking LGBTQ+ referrals from Friendly House, it is also open to non-LGBTQ people over 55 as well.”
