February 28 Forum – An Equity and Opportunity Agenda for Higher Education

As Congress considers rewriting the Higher Education Act, the federal law covering issues from student loans to college access, the Center for American Progress (CAP) will host a keynote address by Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), the ranking member of the Senate committee working on the legislation. Following Sen. Murray’s remarks will be a panel discussion including Zakiya Smith Ellis, New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education; Emmanual Guillory, directory of public policy and government affairs for UNCF; and Amy Laitinen, director for higher education at New America.
