December 9 Spotlight Audio Conference – Poverty and Involuntary Part-Time Work
Millions of workers in the U.S. are ready and willing to work full time, but find themselves stuck in jobs that offer only part-time hours. These “involuntary part-time workers” often earn little money and face erratic scheduling, which means they are far more likely to be low-income than other workers. Spotlight and CLASP will hold a national audio conference to discuss the issue of involuntary part-time work and the policy solutions to address it. Speakers include Sejal Parikh, executive director of Working Washington; Derecka Mehrens, executive director of Working Partnerships USA; and Amy Sugimori, director of policy and legislation for 32BJ SEIU. The audio conference will be held from 12-1 p.m. EST. Click here to register.
