September 22 – How States Are Responding to the Rise in Debt Collection Cases

The Pew Charitable Trusts and the Aspen Institute invite will hold an interactive webinar about what state policymakers can do to address the growing number of debt cases in state courts. State leaders from different branches and different regions of the country will share their experiences with adopting policy changes and provide practical tips and strategies for other state leaders exploring this issue. Following the panel will be a discussion of The Pew Charitable Trusts’ recent report that documents promising actions to address the rise of debt collection lawsuits, and the Aspen Institute Financial Security Program will share a preview of their upcoming report about debt collections litigation as a barrier to financial security for vulnerable Americans. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 22 at 12 p.m. EST.
