Head Start in Rural America
A new analysis from the Center for American Progress documents the scope of the federal Head Start preschool program in 10 states with significant rural populations. “Head Start in Rural America” finds that in many states, Head Start fills a child care and early education gap in rural counties and boosts access to health care among rural children.
