Spotlight Contributor to become Mr. Ambassador Down Under?
Back in January 2009, Jeff Bleich penned a strong piece for Spotlight on how legal advocates can help the poor. The piece, called “What Lawyers Need to Do to Tackle Child Poverty,” offered four ways to help break the cycle of child poverty. In addition to being a Spotlight contributor and working on issues of interest to low-income Americans, Bleich has also been a strong supporter of President Obama. For the last few months, Mr. Bleich has served in the White House as Special Counsel to the President, and now comes word he is the leading candidate to become the United States۪ next ambassador to Australia. According to today۪s Washington Post, “now the chatter seems to point to Australia” for Bleich. We hope Bleich will keep his interest and advocacy for low-income issues even as he tackles the world of international diplomacy.
