Out of the Spotlight Postings for November 14th

OBTPARWGAnnouncement. It۪s official. TOM PEREZ is tagged for the transition and will be “responsible for the justice, health and human services, veterans affairs, and housing and urban development agencies.” OBTPARWG, the Obama-Biden Transition Project۪s Agency Review Working Group (a title that proves that the federal government is genetically coded to offer up too-long titles no matter who comes to town), provides the why in the posted Perez bio there۪s the stint as HHS director of the Office of Civil Rights, the job at Justice, and Special Counsel to Senator Edward Kennedy, not to mention current responsibilities as Secretary of Maryland۪s Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. And while OBTPARWG is too professional to mention it, poverty mavens might want to know that Tom۪s wife is a staff attorney at the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless.
