Corr۪s Bright

One of the leading members of OBTPARWG (the Obama-Biden Transition Project۪s Agency Review Working Group) is Bill Corr, executive director of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids,OOTS believes this is great news for anyone who cares about the well-being of disadvantaged kids and families. Corr has heavy creds nothing “lite”about his experiences or commitment:he joined Tobacco-Freein 2000 after twenty-three years in Congress and the executive branch, including stints as senior staffer to former HHS Secretary Donna Shalala and Sen. Tom Daschle (D-S.D.), a close Obama counselor. Before his career on Capitol Hill, Corr directed community-run primary health care centers in the Appalachian Mountain area of Tennessee and Kentucky,

Other bright lights working with Corr on the Health and Human Services (HHS) team includes fellow Clinton administration alum Nicole Lurie, who served as deputy assistant secretary for health.

Overseeing the Social Security Administration (SSA) review team is Susan Daniels, a veteran who served under President George H.W. Bush and Clinton in HHS, the Education Department and the Social Security Administration. SSA is a hugely important agency for anyone who cares about reducing poverty, not just for the elderly, but also for the disabled, and survivors whose spouse or parents have died.

All of these folks report to Tom Perez.
