At an International Summit, President Obama Touts U.S. Commitment to the Poor

Posted on

Included in his remarks to open the recent Summit of the Americas, President Obama made a strong, clear statement about fighting poverty here at home, stating, “we۪re also committed to combating inequality and creating prosperity from the bottom up. This is something that I۪ve spoken about in the United States, and it۪s something that I believe applies across the region.”

Here at OOTS, we think it۪s noteworthy that President Obama is talking about poverty on a big stage and seems to think that looking after those in need is necessary to build prosperityin any country.
