September 26 Forum – What’s the Matter with Wages? Exploring Wage Stagnation and the American Worker

Posted on

The average American worker has not seen a real increase in wages since the 1970s, and experts worry that economic growth is not reaching low- and middle-income earners. The Hamilton Project will host a discussion on wage growth in the United States, featuring introductory remarks by former U.S. Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin. Other speakers include Jason Furman, professor at Harvard’s Kennedy School; Lawrence Mishel, president of the Economic Policy Institute (EPI); Jared Bernstein, senior fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities; and Heidi Shierholz, director of policy at EPI. The event will be held at the Rockefeller-Peterson Room in Washington, D.C., from 2-4 p.m. EDT. Click here to register.
