September 24 Forum – Did We Win the War on Poverty?

Posted on

In light of a recent Trump administration report that claimed “our War on Poverty is largely over and a success,” AEI will host a discussion of the future of safety net programs and the state of American poverty today. A keynote address from Kevin Hassett, chair of the Council of Economic Advisers that authored the report, will be followed by a panel discussion including Bruce Meyer, professor of public policy at the University of Chicago; Demetra Nightingale, fellow at the Urban Institute; and Isabel Sawhill, senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. The event will be held at AEI in Washington, D.C., from 12-2 p.m. ET. Click here to register.
