November 29 Forum: Work, Skills, and Community: How to Rejuvenate the American Working Class

Posted on

Despite a strong economy, the American working class faces troubling issues including wage stagnation, high suicide rates, and the opioid epidemic. A study group convened by Opportunity America, cosponsored by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and Brookings Institution, has produced a consensus plan to support the working class. AEI will host a discussion of the plan with its authors. Speakers include William Galston, senior fellow at Brookings; Ben Harris, chief economist with Results for America; Tamar Jacoby, president of Opportunity America; and Paul Winfree, director of economic policy studies at the Heritage Foundation. The event will be held at AEI in Washington, D.C., from 9-11 a.m. ET. Click here to register.
