March 29 Forum – What Happened to Compassionate Conservatism, and Can it Return?
The 1990s saw the rise of “compassionate conservatism,” with GOP lawmakers focused on reforming safety net programs and avoiding stigmatizing low-income people. The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) will host a forum on why the movement fell short, and how it could return. Speakers include Marvin Olasky, editor in chief of WORLD Magazine; Christopher Fay, executive director of Homestretch; and Angela Rachidi, research fellow at AEI. The event will be held at AEI in Washington, D.C., from 12-1:30 p.m. EDT. Click here to register.
