The Washington Post, May 5, 2016: How social conservatives can regain relevance in the age of Trump
“If, having become participants in the political process, they wish to remain an active force in politics, there is a way forward. They would do better to find principles and causes inspired by faith that can draw people from both parties and from the secular world as well. In a sense, they have abandoned causes to which they are best suited. Reform of anti-poverty programs; education reform (with recognition that boys and men now lag female counterparts in numerous categories); free speech, academic freedom and due process on college campuses — where victims of the mob mentality are often conservative; and drug addiction/criminal reform are all issues in which people of faith can and do play a productive role.”
