Utah Plans to Punish School Districts That Charge High Pay-to-Play Fees
“Pay-to-play — in which extra fees are required for any student who wants to participate — has become a fact of life in many public schools for any family whose child plays sports or participates in other extracurricular activities. While some districts have dropped or reconsidered pay-to-play in light of improving economic circumstances or public backlash, we might have the first state-level effort to put a lid on those fees.”
