Teen Birth Rate Has Fallen, But In Some Parts Of U.S., It’s Still Nearly Twice The National Average
“The likelihood of a teenager having a baby depends in part on where she lives, according to a new study that identified ‘hot spots’ in which the teen birth rates is markedly higher than the national average. The U.S. teen birth rate has declined almost continuously every year for a quarter of a century and hit a historic low in 2015, the most recent year for which data are available. In 2015, there were 22.3 births for every 1,000 girls age 15-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
