Sioux City applying for new program to spur investment in low-income areas

“Sioux City plans to apply for a new federal program meant to spur private investment in low-income areas. The city is putting together an application to designate as many as 12 of the city’s 22 census tracts as ‘Opportunity Zones,’ meaning that businesses and property within those areas would be eligible to receive future investments from ‘Opportunity Funds’ being set up by the federal government.”
