Project Unite to grow high-speed internet in southern Middle Tennesee
“The Duck River Electric Membership Corporation and United Communications are working in collaboration to expand broadband access to underserved areas across southern Middle Tennessee.
Duck River is an electric provider serving 2,500 square miles of Middle Tennessee and United is one of the region’s providers of fiber and fixed wireless internet services.
The two institutions launched the partnership this month in an effort to bring an end to the region’s digital divide, leaving those without high-speed internet with a significant disadvantage in career development, telemedicine and social engagement opportunities.”
