Portland Public Schools holds open house on boundary changes for 18 Portland schools

“‘The schools in Southeast Portland are only a few miles apart. These are neighbors. These kids are all our neighbors, and they all fit in this community, so we’re doing our best to draw boundaries in between them,’ said Brennan. ‘Our goal is to have robust programs for all of our kids, and we think we can deliver that across the schools, even if the poverty rate is a little higher at one or a little lower at another.’

‘I understand that it’s an easier way to manage these language immersion programs to have them in one school. From a resource standpoint, I don’t know how the kids are going to be served better,’ said Perry.”
