Posted on

Recent pressing policy issues such as the opioid epidemic and disintegrating family structures have turned policymakers’ attention to impoverished rural communities. AEI and the American Academy of Political and Social Science will hold a discussion on the state of poverty in rural America and what steps should be taken to combat it. Speakers include Robert Doar, resident fellow at AEI; Daniel Lichter, professor of sociology at Cornell University; Dottie Rosenbaum, senior fellow at CBPP; and James Ziliak, professor of economics at the University of Kentucky. The event will be held at AEI in Washington, D.C., from 12:30-2 p.m. EDT. Click here to register.
