Numbers on poverty don’t show the full reality of its impact

“Thursday, the U.S. Census Bureau will release its report on income, poverty, and health insurance as part of the 2017 community survey. Today, we are going to hazard a few informed guesses as to what it contains (an embargoed copy exists, which we haven’t consulted). We’re doing so to make a point: that the numbers reported by the U.S. Census are important, but only a small part of the picture.”
