November 29 Forum – Examining the State Role in Financing Public Education

The issue of school funding is front and center in many state legislatures as local policymakers attempt to ensure that every student has access to high-quality education. The Urban Institute will host a panel discussion on November 29 about state school funding policies and their role in addressing education inequality. Speakers include Ary Amerikaner, director of P-12 resource equity at The Education Trust; Matt Chingos, director of the Education Policy Program at the Urban Institute; Lisa Snell, director of education at the Reason Foundation, Marguerite Roza, director of the Edunomics Lab at Georgetown University, Daniel G. Thatcher, education program director at the National Conference of State Legislatures and Matt Barnum, national reporter for Chalkbeat.
