New York’s biggest anti-poverty group thinks Bay Area housing is crazy and wants to help

“Forget technological innovation. The Bay Area is quickly becoming a leader in something far less illustrious: poverty and income inequality. Tipping Point Community, a San Francisco-based nonprofit, is teaming up with Robin Hood, the largest poverty-fighting nonprofit in New York City, to address the growing chasm between the Bay Area’s haves and have-nots. The four-year, $25 million initiative led by Robin Hood will look at ways to predict and prevent poverty here, as well as in New York, Baltimore, suburban Chicago and northeastern Pennsylvania.”
