Meandering Toward Graduation: Transcript Outcomes of High School Graduates
Nearly half of American high school graduates complete neither a college- nor career-ready course of study, according to a new report from The Education Trust. Meandering Toward Graduation: Transcript Outcomes of High School Graduates examines the transcripts of a nationally representative selection of 2013 high school graduates, finding that low-income students are significantly less likely to graduate high school adequately prepared for college or the workforce. The report also finds that even when students of color and low-income students completed college-ready curriculums, they were less likely to earn high GPAs than white and high-income students.
