May 16 Forum – Overcoming Barriers to Opportunity
Conversations about economic opportunity and barriers to success often focus strictly on policy and leave out the voices of real people who have succeeded despite setbacks. AEI will host an evening of discussion with three people who have firsthand experience in overcoming obstacles. Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) will deliver a keynote address, followed by talks from Melony Armstrong, owner of the Naturally Speaking Salon; Bryan Kelley, reentry manager for the Prison Entrepreneurship Program; and Mike Zelley, president of The Disability Network.
