Low-income parents want a white picket fence, not just money, before getting married

“Marriage rates in the U.S. are declining, especially among the lowest-income Americans. However, in October, wage growth in the U.S. hit a nine-year high, with low-wage workers seeing some of the biggest gains. A turnaround in wages could spur marriage rates to climb back up. Lack of money is a primary reason why lower-income people don’t get married, particularly if they already have a child.”
