Louisiana is healthier with Medicaid expansion
βIt was obvious from the beginning that expanding Medicaid in Louisiana would reduce the number of people without health insurance. The state expected 375,000 people to sign up when Gov. John Bel Edwards approved the expansion during his first week in office in 2016. That number has grown to 473,900 since the expansion went into effect.β
