King County presents strategy to run hotel for homeless in Redmond

“King County made its case Tuesday night on why a hotel called the Silver Cloud Inn should house the chronically homeless.

A presentation was given to the Redmond City Council, and many neighbors showed up with concerns about drug addicts and criminals being allowed to live there. County officials said they have a game plan to be a good neighbor, but not everyone is convinced.

With a near-capacity crowd looking on in city council chambers, officials with King County described how Silver Cloud Inn will be part of the Health Through Housing initiative.”
