Keep income requirements for Florida voucher programs, scholarship founder says
“The state Senate Education Committee takes up its ‘Family Empowerment Scholarship’ proposal this week Wednesday, as a piece of a 52-page priority education bill (SPB 7070) leaders promised to spearhead early in the session. The measure aims to eliminate the waiting list for Florida Tax Credit Scholarships, using general tax revenue to supplement the donations made to scholarship funding organization Step Up for Students. It would maintain the same income qualifications, limiting eligibility to families that earn 260 percent or less of the federal poverty level, and also make provisions for children in foster or out-of-home care.”
