January 21 Forum – Retirement on the Rocks

Posted on

The state of middle class retirement savings has worsened significantly over the last 30 years. More than half of work-age families will need to make substantial cuts to their spending when they retire. Retirement on the Rocks: Why Americans Can’t Get Ahead and How New Savings Policies Can Help, a new book by Center for American Progress (CAP) senior fellow Christian Weller, places the blame primarily on U.S. policymakers and lays out a plan for reform. CAP will host a discussion with Weller and Elizabeth Olson, contributing writer for the New York Times, about policies to address America’s retirement crisis. The event will be held at CAP in Washington, D.C., from 12-1:30 p.m. EST.
