January 18 Forum – This Way Up: New Thinking about Poverty and Economic Mobility
As Congress turns its attention to safety net programs and jobs in 2018, conservative proposals to create economic opportunities for poor Americans are in focus. The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and Opportunity America will host a discussion of those proposals, including ideas for workforce training, school voucher programs, and boosting wages. Speakers include Oren Cass, senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute; Robert Doar, resident fellow at AEI; Lawrence Mead, professor at New York University; and Heather Reynolds, president and CEO at Catholic Charities Fort Worth.
