Immigrants pay more into the healthcare system than they get out of it, study shows
“In contrast, U.S.-born enrollees received from insurers nearly $25 billion more than they paid in premiums. In California, where about a fourth of residents are foreign-born, immigrants and their employers contributed close to $28 billion more than they received from insurers from 2008 to 2014. During the same period, U.S. natives in the state received about $28 billion more from insurers than they contributed.”
