For First Time, National School Rankings Consider Effectiveness for Low-Income Students

The 2019 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings feature familiar names at the top, but also includes two new measures of affordability and supports for low-income students. For the first time, the rankings – released last week – evaluate schools based on how well they enroll and graduate low-income students, as well as how they use need-based grants to make enrollment more affordable.
